Sepp van den Berg faces a career -defining moment when Liverpool’s plans move

Sepp van den Berg faces a defining moment in his summer career as Liverpool plan their next move. Full-back needs this to work.

The goal is to claim that many Liverpool youngsters are ready for loan this summer. One of them is Sepp van den Berg, who really can’t afford to suffer.

Now, this is truly a compliment, even if those things can be done for a young Dutchman. But this is the reality of young players at Liverpool – you can’t afford those things. The standards at the club are very high, so the youngsters have to keep an upward trajectory or the Reds will advance.

And Van den Berg is one of the few who can look forward to Liverpool’s future. He shone for Preston North End last season, as he did in a short period of time last year.

The defender is now a very useful player. He has a weird Championship 50 game experience under his belt, while also showing ability in multiple positions. Van den Berg can now play at center -back, right -back and right -back center – which can be done by 20 -year -olds.

This is a very useful thing on any team and we imagine Liverpool want to have it. But all should be good next season.

Sepp van den Berg faces another loan move

Van den Berg now has to show that he can give a higher level than Preston. With all due respect, the Lancashire team did not play to the standards that Liverpool matched.

But we know the top end of the Championship is possible. The Reds signed Fabio Carvalho this summer after an effort for Fulham, after all. Thus Van den Berg needs a move in order to compete for promotion or in the Premier League – and we’re not sure how that will turn out.

Liverpool can’t send him anywhere unless he’s interested. But if Van den Berg plays out a campaign which stagnates or even regresses slightly, we don’t see a way back. He will be 21 and still not at the right level for the Reds. It seems like it’s too late and we can’t imagine Van den Berg will recover at Anfield.

In 2022/23, things should be fine. We think a good campaign where Van den Berg continues to advance could make him a good young squad choice for Liverpool. Get it wrong, though, and that will be that.
