Sports Mole previews Wednesday’s African Cup Qualifier match between Congo and Gambia, including predictions, team news and lineup possibilities.

Looking to be two wins out of two and extend the lead at the top of Group G, Gambia visit the Alphonse Massemba-Debate Stadium to face off Congo at the AFCON 2023 qualifiers, Tuesday.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, entered the game with three consecutive defeats in all competitions and will seek to end this dry season and start the campaign.

Congo failed to find a leg up on Saturday as they lost 4-0 at the hands of Mali in the opening match of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Eagles displayed a first -half display at the Stade du 26 Mars as a goal from Mohamed Camara |, Caliph Coulibaly and prop from El Bilal Toure saw her storm to all three points.

Congo have now failed to enjoy victory in their last eight games in all competitions, including in each of their six matches in Group H of World Cup qualifiers, where they finished at the bottom of the table with three points from six games.

Paul PutThe team also entered Wednesday’s match without a win in their last four African Cup qualifiers, losing two and claiming two draws since a 2-0 win over 10-man Eswatini in November 2020.

The Red Devils will now try to end this dry spell and start their campaign when they want to return to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2015, when they were sent off in the quarterfinals.

Gambia, on the other hand, started their AFCON 2023 qualifiers in a good way with a 1-0 win against South Sudan on Saturday.

Bologna forward Musa Bawor performed in good form because he gave help Ablie Jallow to smash home the only goal of the game at the Stade Lat Dior.

Previously, Zambia were sent off to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 defeat against Cameroon in January before drawing 1-1 with the United Arab Emirates in a friendly match on 29 May.

Tom SaintfietHeading on Wednesday unbeaten in each of his last three away games in all competitions, claiming two wins and one series since losing 2-0 to New Zealand in November 2021.

Maribor midfielder Antoine Makoumbou can be thrown into the fray, potentially coming in for Nolan Mbembawho was hooked at half -time after failing to make his mark there.

Despite failing to score in the last five games for club and country, Wydad has advanced Guy Mbenza must remain in place under attack, alongside Hatayspor’s Dylan Saint-Louis.

Barrow, who signed an assist on Saturday, has now conceded five goals in his last seven games in all competitions and the Bologna striker will be one to watch out for.
