Fabrizio Romano believes that Dean Henderson’s move to Nottingham Forest looks more likely to happen.

In the last 24 hours, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Nottingham Forest have opened talks with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Dean Henderson.

The Englishman has barely played football in the last twelve months, with David de Gea strengthening his number one jersey with an impressive performance.

Yes, the potential out of Henderson looks closer than we thought. Earlier today, Romano followed up on yesterday’s tweet in Henderson with some more important news.

Apparently, the United star has a ‘good chance’ to leave United this summer, with sources ‘very confident’ that a deal can be reached.

As a matter of fact, it looks like a loan deal with a £ 20m purchase option, with negotiations continuing.

The recently promoted Forest wants to replace Brice Samba as the starting goalkeeper, with Henderson being a good choice for anyone looking to improve. No doubt Forest will get a top-tier shot-stopper if this deal happens.

From United’s point of view, this is a fun saga. Obviously, Henderson is more than likely to replace De Gea as number one at some point. However, the Englishman just doesn’t have to wait any longer because he is ready to play high level team football now.

I think United are holding back bets on how long they believe De Gea can play at the level they currently do.

In Henderson’s exact terms, I actually believe it fits the Ten Hag system better than the Spaniard. The Englishman looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet and that’s something to think about in any potential movement.

United have to make a decision. And one that has to be done this summer because Henderson’s value will only decrease season-after season.

Honestly, I would be upset if United only got £ 20m back for the Englishman, and this is not a guarantee as Forest have no obligation to buy Hendo directly.
