This Internet thing is wild.
In the days after Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain’s running mate, a scandal has bubbled up from the not so distant past. Is 4-month-old Trig Palin really Sarah’s baby? Or is he the progeny of her oldest daughter, 17-year-old Bristol?
Here’s the evidence. Convincing, no? What gets me is the photo from T-minus 1 month until birth (The governor’s body is still lithe), and the fact that she took an 8-hour plane ride from Dallas to Anchorage while supposedly in labor.
The Anchorage Daily News questioned the motherhood in March. But thanks to the Interwebs, it is now making the larger rounds. I found out about it on Twitter, thanks to newmediajim.
We learned from the John Edwards scandal how such stories can be discussed on the Internet for days and days before they finally end up in the MSM.
This story is so much more explosive, though. Edwards, like him or not, was basically a washed up pol who many folks thought was a slimeball anyway. Palin is an unknown and has staked much of her political capital on family values and abstinence-only education.
What’s your over/under on how many days till this makes the New York Times? I say four. What about for the first mention on CNN? I say two.
